I really love love love this look. There was a serious strut in my walk :) feelin' good.
I first met Varun during London Fashion Week 2016, at the fashion scout: Emerging Designer Exhibition, I immediately walk over to his stand, introduced myself and said I would contact him the following day because I would love to shoot clothes.
THE BOMBER JACKET
A bref history on the bomber jacket also known as a flight jacket is a garment that was originally created for use by pilots. After first being worn in World War I, the bomber jacket has grown in popularity throughout the world since. The bomber jacket has blatant military roots but can now be found in the collections of some of the world’s most respected streetwear and high-fashion brands. Today, its a symbol of style.
The jacket is fitted at the waist and loose around the person's stomach and chest.
VARUN'S BOMBER JACKET
I met Varun at his Showroom in Old Street, we spoke about his inspirations and how his bomber jacket came to life. He loved tribal patterns, however he want his creations to have his personal touch, therefore he created his own patterns. Authentic to Him. And let me tell you, they are gorgeously done.
He mentioned the fabric and the intensity of color on the fabric was done on purpose. He likes to play with different fabrics to see how patterns turn out.
I took the bomber jacket off the coat rail and put in on, put on my in the pockets and looked up at Varun, his face light up. There is no greater happiness for a designer than to see his creature being worn.
